We had a nice connecting room which kept the kids next door. Breakfast for four was an additional 50€ which was a bit steep for choices on hand. However, it was all freshly prepared and the scrambled eggs were lovely. It’s really close to the E9 so great checkpoint to break up a 12hour journey. Fun fact, La Chapelle-Saint-Mesmin is twinned with Newhaven. Which is just down the road from where I live!Lisa Abrahams2023-02-10Very nice, comfortable hotel located close to Orléans. The room was spacious and clean and the bathroom and shower were modern with good water pressure. The grounds were lovely, just a few steps to the Loire River. There is a very nice restaurant also a few steps away. The hotel offers breakfast, which I didn’t have, but it looked plentiful and smelled good. The staff was helpful and organized transportation for me as well solving any other small issues. There is no elevator but this doesn’t bother me so I don’t consider it something negative. The kindness shown by the man on reception when we arrived at 10pm with 2 young children after breaking down was so appreciated. We were hungry and tired and this place saved us. He ordered us pizza and showed us to our rooms. He also helped the next day with a lot of patience and generosity. It was possible to reach the center by foot & bike along the river path which we also liked. The hotel is set in a quiet, green location away from the road. This is what value-for-money looks like when it is done well and with a sense of personality that hasn't been lost by an overtly corporate touch. The hotel is sat in its own grounds between the Loire river and the approach roads to the motorway. It is quiet, tranquil and within reach of restaurants. Although, there are local buses, a car is essential. Half the rooms look to the river and cost a bit more. Every room seems to be surrounded by trees. Mosquitos (due to river) may be a problem in the summer. Breakfast is perfect and staff are a delight.
